La Vita e Biella
This series is about returning to visit my dear friend and her family in Biella, Italy. We first met many years ago in London before she moved back home. Since then, every time I visit, their house still feels full of the same warmth, kindness and beautiful energy that I remembered from the beginning.
Over the years, the family has changed naturally. My friend now has a son who has grown so much since the last time I saw him. But many things also stay the same: the old house filled with objects and memories, the dogs resting in the doorway, the hens in the garden, the quiet afternoons and the feeling of being welcomed with love every time I return.
For me, authenticity is found in these simple moments. Nothing was staged or planned. I photographed life as it happened around me, through the connection and trust I feel with this family. Their home feels almost like a small museum of memories, full of character, animals, light and care. Especially through the warmth of my friend’s mother, the house always feels open and alive.
This series represents “Life As You See It” through my personal experience of returning to a place that has become emotionally important to me over the years. These photographs are not only about documenting a family, but about preserving the feeling of warmth, belonging and comfort that I experience every time I return to Biella. Through these images, I wanted to capture not only how this place looks, but how it feels to be there.
